After hearing of this abandoned stone house from an old man as “being across the lake from his favorite out-of-the-way fishing hole,” I found this house literally where the ‘roads have no names.’ This house stands in south central North Dakota which I reached by highway for most it. The last few miles to reach this house was by foot through the small remains of an old farm where very little was left; part of a wall here or a fence there. In the 6 years I spent traveling & exploring North Dakota’s back roads, this is the only stone house I ever found.
